transition story
Tale of transformation
A transition story is an account of someone's experience transitioning from one gender to another—the personal narrative of coming to understand oneself as transgender and the social, medical, or legal steps taken.
These stories often appear in media profiles, memoirs, and community spaces: She shared her transition story at the support group.
The term can also refer more broadly to any narrative about major life change, though the transgender sense dominates contemporary usage.
