trade deals
International exchange agreements
Trade deals are agreements between countries governing the exchange of goods and services—setting tariffs, quotas, and terms of commerce.
The phrase often carries political charge, with critics decrying deals as unfair and proponents touting economic benefits: We need to renegotiate our trade deals.
A single agreement may also be called a trade deal: The trade deal with Canada took years to finalize.
