sports tournaments
Organized competitive athletic events
Sports tournaments are competitive events where multiple teams or individuals play a series of games to determine a champion.
The structure varies: single-elimination tournaments advance winners until one remains, while round-robin formats have everyone play everyone.
The tennis tournament runs through next weekend.
Major tournaments like the World Cup or March Madness attract massive audiences and generate intense fan investment.
