toe stops
Roller skate brakes
Toe stops are the rubber or plastic brakes mounted at the front of roller skates, allowing skaters to slow down or stop by tilting forward onto the toe.
They're standard on quad skates used for rink skating and roller derby: She dragged her toe stops to brake before the turn.
Inline skates typically use heel brakes instead.
