timolol

Pressure-lowering medication

Timolol is a beta-blocker medication used primarily to treat high blood pressure and prevent migraines, but it is perhaps best known in its eye drop form for reducing intraocular pressure in glaucoma patients.

The drug works by decreasing the production of aqueous humor in the eye or by slowing heart rate and reducing the force of heart contractions.

My doctor prescribed timolol drops after my glaucoma diagnosis.
