time gap
Span between events
A time gap is an interval or discontinuity between two periods or events.
It might be the pause between episodes of a television series, the years between someone leaving a job and starting another, or a missing stretch in historical records: There's a three-year time gap in her résumé.
In narrative, a time gap is when a story skips forward, leaving events unshown.
