time exposure
Slow shutter photograph
A time exposure is a photograph taken with the camera's shutter open for an extended period, allowing more light to reach the film or sensor.
The technique captures motion as blur and makes dim scenes visible: The time exposure turned car headlights into ribbons of light.
The term also refers to the duration of such an exposure.
