thumb typing
Mobile keyboard input
Thumb typing is texting or typing on a handheld device using primarily the thumbs rather than all fingers.
The technique became standard with mobile phones and remains common on smartphones: She can thumb type without even looking at the screen.
The term distinguishes this hunt-and-peck style from touch typing on a full keyboard.
