therapy session
Scheduled healing talk
A therapy session is a scheduled meeting between a patient and a mental health professional—typically lasting 45 to 60 minutes.
The term usually refers to psychotherapy or counseling rather than physical therapy: I have a therapy session every Tuesday at noon.
Informally, any deep conversation where someone unloads emotional burdens may be called a therapy session: Lunch with her always turns into a therapy session.
