opening up
Shedding one's reserve
Opening up describes the process of becoming more accessible, available, or communicative.
When a person opens up, they share thoughts or feelings they had previously kept private: After a few sessions, she finally started opening up to her therapist.
Markets, countries, or opportunities open up when they become available or less restricted.
The phrase also applies physically to spaces or views that become visible or accessible: The trail opens up into a beautiful meadow after the dense forest.
