theogony
Gods' origin story
A theogony is an account of the origin and genealogy of the gods.
The term applies especially to mythological narratives explaining how deities came into being and their relationships to one another: Every ancient culture had its own theogony.
The concept appears in religious studies and comparative mythology when examining how different traditions explain divine origins. (Capitalized Theogony is Hesiod's poem.)
