royal lineage
Monarchs' family tree
Royal lineage is the line of descent from monarchs—the chain of ancestry connecting someone to kings or queens.
A person of royal lineage has royalty among their forebears: She traced her royal lineage back to the Tudors.
The phrase often carries connotations of legitimacy, birthright, and inherited authority over succession to a throne.
