territorial boundary
Land division line
A territorial boundary is a line marking where one territory ends and another begins—whether between nations, states, or other jurisdictions.
These boundaries may follow natural features like rivers and mountain ranges, or be drawn arbitrarily through treaties and agreements.
The river serves as the territorial boundary between the two countries.
The term also applies to informal divisions: The cats established territorial boundaries throughout the house.
