double tapping
Two quick touches
Double tapping is tapping something twice in quick succession.
On touchscreens, a double tap often zooms in or triggers a specific action—on Instagram, it likes a post.
In shooting, double tapping means firing two rapid shots at the same target to ensure effectiveness.
The phrase carries over to video games and military contexts: Double tap to make sure they stay down.
