talent showcase
Skills on display
A talent showcase is an event where performers display their abilities, typically in sequence before an audience.
School talent shows, open mic nights, and variety programs all qualify.
The format emphasizes giving multiple acts a platform rather than competition, though showcases often serve as auditions or exposure opportunities: The comedy club hosts a weekly talent showcase for new comics.
