tale-tellers

Those who narrate

Tale-tellers are people who tell tales—storytellers, whether of fiction or gossip.

The term can be neutral, describing someone who shares narratives, or slightly disparaging, suggesting someone who spreads rumors or reports on others: The office tale-tellers had already spread the news.

In older usage, tale-teller often meant tattletale or informer.
