surrealist imagery

Surrealist imagery draws from dreams, the unconscious, and unexpected juxtapositions—melting clocks, floating objects, impossible anatomies.

The term references the early 20th-century art movement but applies broadly to any visual work that defies logic or rational interpretation: The music video was full of surrealist imagery—eyeballs growing from flowers, stairs leading nowhere.

Such imagery aims to bypass conscious thought and tap something deeper.
