stoplights
Intersection traffic controllers
Stoplights are traffic signals that control the flow of vehicles at intersections, using red, yellow, and green lights to indicate when to stop, prepare to stop, or proceed.
The term also refers to the red brake lights on the rear of vehicles: His stoplights came on suddenly and I nearly rear-ended him.
