stereograms
Hidden 3-D images
Stereograms are images designed to create the illusion of three-dimensional depth.
The term covers various techniques: traditional stereograms use paired photographs viewed through a stereoscope, while autostereograms (often called "Magic Eye" images) hide 3D shapes in seemingly random patterns that emerge when you unfocus your eyes in a specific way.
I could never see those stereograms that were popular in the nineties.
