stealth fighters
Radar-evading warplanes
Stealth fighters are military aircraft designed to evade detection by radar and other tracking systems.
Their angular shapes, special coatings, and internal weapons bays minimize their radar signature: The F-117 was the first operational stealth fighter.
The term extends loosely to any combat aircraft incorporating stealth technology, though purists distinguish fighters from bombers and attack aircraft.
