stage-whisper
Audible secret-telling technique
A stage-whisper is a loud whisper meant to be heard by others beyond the person addressed—originally an actor's convention for letting the audience hear "private" remarks.
The term now describes any deliberately audible aside: She stage-whispered to her friend that the host's dress was hideous.
The verb form works the same way: He stage-whispered the answer across the room.
