squadron commander
Air force officer
A squadron commander is the officer in charge of a squadron—a military unit whose size varies by branch.
In air forces, a squadron typically comprises several aircraft and their crews; in naval contexts, it may be a group of ships or submarines; in cavalry or armored units, a ground formation.
The commander holds responsibility for the unit's training, readiness, and operations: The squadron commander briefed pilots before the mission.
