spirit channeling

Spirit channeling is the practice of serving as a conduit for communication with supernatural entities—typically spirits of the dead, but also angels, demons, or other beings.

The channeler enters a trance or altered state, allowing the entity to speak through them or transmit messages.

The practice appears in spiritualist traditions and New Age beliefs: She claimed to be channeling her grandmother's spirit.

Also called mediumship or simply channeling.
