speedwalks
Moves fast afoot
Speedwalks is the third-person singular form of speedwalk, meaning to walk at a fast, deliberate pace without breaking into a run.
The term applies both to the competitive sport with its distinctive hip-swinging gait and to everyday hurried walking: She speedwalks through the airport to make her connection.
The athletic form requires one foot always in contact with the ground.
