solid rocket
Non-liquid thruster
A solid rocket is a rocket engine that uses solid propellant—fuel and oxidizer combined in a stable mixture that burns when ignited.
Unlike liquid rockets, solid rockets have no pumps or complex plumbing; once lit, they burn until exhausted and cannot be throttled or shut down.
The Space Shuttle's twin boosters were solid rockets.
The missile uses a two-stage solid rocket motor.
