slug gun
Single-projectile hunting firearm
A slug gun is a shotgun designed or modified to fire solid projectiles called slugs rather than the usual spray of pellets.
Slug guns typically have rifled barrels for improved accuracy at longer ranges, making them popular for deer hunting in regions where rifles are restricted: He bought a slug gun for hunting in the shotgun-only zone.
