contact dermatitis
Touch-triggered skin reaction
Contact dermatitis is skin inflammation caused by direct contact with an irritating or allergy-triggering substance.
The reaction typically produces redness, itching, and sometimes blisters where the skin touched the offending material—poison ivy, nickel jewelry, certain soaps, latex.
The rash on her wrists turned out to be contact dermatitis from her new watch band.
