single-blind
Subjects don't know
Single-blind describes an experiment where participants don't know whether they're receiving the treatment or a placebo, but the researchers do know.
This prevents subjects' expectations from influencing results while allowing researchers to observe directly: a single-blind clinical trial.
Compare double-blind, where neither party knows.
