showring

Livestock judging area

A showring is an enclosed arena where animals—especially horses, cattle, and dogs—are exhibited and judged at agricultural fairs, breeding competitions, and similar events.

The term combines the circular or rectangular ring where animals are presented with the competitive showing that takes place there: The handler led the prize heifer around the showring.

Also spelled as two words: show ring.
