shoe molding
Floor-wall gap cover
Shoe molding is a narrow strip of trim installed where a baseboard meets the floor, covering the gap between them.
It's more flexible than baseboard alone, allowing it to follow slight irregularities in the flooring: We installed shoe molding after laying the hardwood.
Also called base shoe.
