semi-dry

Between damp and parched

Semi-dry describes something partially but not completely dry, or in wine terminology, having moderate residual sugar—sweeter than dry but not as sweet as semi-sweet.

A semi-dry wine like Riesling balances some sweetness against acidity: This semi-dry white pairs well with spicy food.

The term also applies to anything in an intermediate state of dryness: The paint was semi-dry to the touch.
