self-right
Flip back upright
To self-right is to return to an upright position after capsizing or tipping over, without outside assistance.
The term applies especially to boats designed to roll back upright after being knocked down by waves: The lifeboat is built to self-right in heavy seas.
It extends to robots, drones, and animals like turtles that can flip themselves over.
