second-hand
Not brand new
Second-hand describes something previously owned or used by another: second-hand clothes, a second-hand car.
Information received second-hand comes not from the original source but through an intermediary: I heard it second-hand from a colleague.
A second hand is also the sweep hand on a clock that counts seconds.
Also spelled secondhand.
