Screen timeout is the automatic dimming or shutting off of a display after a period of inactivity.
Phones, computers, and other devices use screen timeout to conserve battery and prevent burn-in.
I set my screen timeout to two minutes so my phone doesn't die as fast.
The setting is usually adjustable in a device's display or power options.
