sabbatic

Of weekly repose

Sabbatic is an adjective form of sabbath, relating to rest or to the observance of the Sabbath.

It appears most often in the phrase sabbatic year, the biblical practice of letting fields lie fallow every seventh year.

The more common spelling for this sense is sabbatical, which has largely displaced sabbatic in modern usage.
