runs allowed
Scorer's tally against
Runs allowed is a baseball statistic counting the total runs scored against a pitcher or team.
For pitchers, it measures how many runs crossed home plate while they were on the mound, regardless of whether those runs resulted from their own mistakes or fielding errors.
For teams, it's the season total of runs given up: The pitching staff kept runs allowed under 600 this year.
Lower numbers indicate better defensive performance.
