pitch count
Throws before removal
A pitch count is the running tally of pitches thrown by a baseball pitcher during a game.
Managers monitor pitch counts to protect arms from fatigue and injury—a starter might be pulled after 100 pitches regardless of how well they're throwing.
His pitch count was already at 85 in the sixth inning.
