A rubber man is a performer, typically in circus or sideshow acts, who demonstrates extreme flexibility—bending, twisting, and contorting the body in ways that seem impossible.

The term also applies loosely to anyone unusually limber: He's a regular rubber man, folding himself into that tiny car.

In older slang, a rubber man was someone who passed bad checks.
