robotic limb

Automated body extension

A robotic limb is an artificial arm or leg that uses mechanical and electronic systems to restore or enhance movement.

Unlike passive prosthetics, robotic limbs respond to signals—from muscles, nerves, or brain interfaces—allowing users to control them intentionally: Her robotic limb lets her grip objects again.

The term also covers mechanical appendages on robots themselves.
