robot wars
Mechanical combat tournaments
Robot Wars is a competition format where remote-controlled machines battle in an arena, attempting to disable or destroy opponents through flipping, crushing, or sawing.
The term covers both organized events and the British television series that popularized the concept.
By extension, robot wars can describe any automated conflict or competition between machines: The streaming platforms are engaged in their own robot wars.
