ringtails
Banded-tail mammals
Ringtails are mammals with distinctive banded tails.
The term most commonly refers to the ringtail cat, a nocturnal creature native to North America related to raccoons.
It also applies to ring-tailed lemurs and ring-tailed possums.
In falconry, a ringtail is a female hen harrier, named for the bands on her tail feathers.
