kinkajous
Prehensile-tailed procyonids
Kinkajous is the plural of kinkajou, a nocturnal mammal native to Central and South American rainforests.
Related to raccoons, kinkajous have long prehensile tails, golden-brown fur, and large eyes adapted for nighttime foraging.
They feed mainly on fruit and are sometimes kept as exotic pets: The zoo's kinkajous were most active after dark.
