A riffle shuffle is a method of shuffling cards by splitting the deck in half and interleaving the two halves together.
The shuffler holds a portion in each hand, bends the cards slightly, and releases them so they fall alternately into a single stack: He gave the deck a quick riffle shuffle before dealing.
