resiliency
Capacity for recovery
Resiliency is the ability to recover from setbacks, adapt to change, or withstand pressure.
The word applies equally to materials that spring back after being stretched and to people who bounce back from hardship: The community showed remarkable resiliency after the flood.
Resilience is the more common form; resiliency adds a syllable without changing the meaning.
