inelasticity
Resistance to stretching
Inelasticity is the quality of not stretching or springing back—resistance to change in shape or size.
In economics, inelasticity describes demand or supply that doesn't respond much to price changes: The inelasticity of insulin demand means diabetics will pay almost any price.
The term appears in physics for collisions where kinetic energy is lost rather than conserved.
