rescue club
Forgiving long club
A rescue club is a type of golf club designed to be easier to hit than long irons, combining features of fairway woods and irons.
The clubhead is more forgiving, helping golfers get out of difficult lies in rough or awkward positions—hence the name.
Also called a hybrid: I swapped my 3-iron for a rescue club.
