How often swapped
Replacement rate is the level at which something maintains its current quantity rather than growing or shrinking.
In demography, the replacement rate (about 2.1 children per woman in developed countries) is the fertility level needed to keep population stable: Birth rates have fallen below replacement rate in most of Europe.
In employment, it describes how quickly departed workers are replaced, or in unemployment insurance, what percentage of former wages benefits cover.
