remote viewer

Distant scene perceiver

A remote viewer is someone who practices remote viewing—the claimed psychic ability to perceive distant locations, objects, or events without using ordinary senses.

The term emerged from U.S. government research programs in the 1970s and 1980s that investigated whether such abilities could be used for intelligence gathering: The CIA employed remote viewers during the Cold War.

Remote viewing remains controversial, with believers treating it as a trainable skill and skeptics dismissing it as pseudoscience.
