remastered edition
Enhanced archival release
A remastered edition is a version of a recording, film, or video game that has been technically enhanced from the original source material.
The remastering process typically improves audio clarity, video resolution, or visual fidelity while preserving the original content: The remastered edition of the album revealed details buried in the original mix.
Remastered editions capitalize on nostalgia and new technology, giving classic works fresh commercial life.
