regional playoffs
Divisional tournament rounds
Regional playoffs are a stage of tournament competition where teams or individuals compete within a defined geographic area to advance to higher rounds.
In sports leagues and championships, regional playoffs typically follow regular season play and precede national or championship-level competition.
Our team made it to the regional playoffs but lost in the semifinals.
The structure narrows the field by having competitors face opponents from their own region before meeting winners from other regions.
